Evocati 3.23 playtest
Yesterday's playtest was primarily focused on stability testing, and although some issues were expected, the extent was surprisingly moderate.
I skipped the character customizer to spend more time in-game, but it seems to be extensive.
Choosing Orison as a new home, I noticed changes in the controls.
The ships initially felt sluggish until I found the corresponding mode.
The new shopping user interface resembles augmented reality and looks promising.
Although not everything worked perfectly, the EVA system was surprisingly smooth.
Unfortunately, there was no time for extensive testing, but the new HUD with a minimap and compass in FPS was definitely a highlight.

Jump-gate & Scaling up of player cap
Test 2: Directly on 400 players. Lags and delays right now on the Stanton server, 040 crashed 7 times on the Stanton site, but also recovered 7 times! Things looked better on the Pyro side, but 400 players were not fully reached yesterday or today. Today we were probably at 339 players on the shard. About the same yesterday.

Yes, and the server/system transfer still works perfectly, apart from a bit of polishing. My personal prediction is that the tech preview will (hopefully) be public over the next week.

By the way, Pyro is completely inside, so this time all planets and moons (Pyro 6 is completely black, bug or placeholder) but missing quantum markers for some locations and no missions.

Jump-gate & Scaling up of player cap
Test 1 - 2/2: I embarked on a round trip from Stanton to Pyro and back, initially attempting it with a Syulen.

Maneuvering through the gate involved aligning properly and boosting to avoid being thrown back, a process complicated by the darkness of Pyro's environment.

Despite the lack of visual effects and textures, the journey went smoothly, with only occasional server stutters.

Refueling stops at Monox/Patch City and HUR-L5 were necessary to complete the journey. Despite a minor hiccup regarding quantum fuel levels, I managed to reach the destination without crashes, showcasing the reliability of the servers and my ship's resilience.

Jump-gate & Scaling up of player cap
Test 1 - 1/2: 200 on Saturday 8pm-10pm and 400 on Sunday 8pm-10pm and it's the total on the shard.

But 200 ran so smoothly yesterday that the devs increased it to 400 yesterday (was written as an announcement in the in-game chat).

They have now simply left the player cap at 200 until the test this evening 🙂 As I said, at 400 it worked but had extreme lags (several minutes for inventory or things like getting up, activating quantum, etc.) but basically a mega good test, server crash Recovery and system changes work perfectly.
